Exploring 3 of Europe’s Holiday Markets

Visiting the Christmas markets of Berlin, Prague and Budapest was a magical experience. Tents are covered in lights. Holiday music is playing. The streets are filled with locals and tourists alike enjoying mulled wine, bratwurst and an assortment of sweets.

Berlin’s Christmas markets were the 1st of the three cities I visited. Welhnachts Zauber market has a small entrance fee. Once inside my friends and I filled up on roasted nuts, cheese, cakes, candies, and champagne.

Prague’s Christmas market located in the Old Town Square felt like a fairytale. It is simply beautiful. My friends and I dined outdoors, sipping on beers, eating prosciutto while people watching.

Budapest was the last of the three markets we visited. My friends and I filled up on mulled wine while taking a ride on the Ferris wheel.

Visiting the Christmas markets made me feel like a child. In my hometown of San Jose we have a tradition called “Christmas in the Park,” these markets brought back memories of when my family and I would go for a visit. Festive holiday music, sipping on something warm while spending time with the ones you love. The holidays are the perfect time to reflect on the year as it comes to an end. Excited to usher in a new year with new dreams and new travel adventures! Happy Holidays Everyone!
